BEHIND THE LENS

I am currently in the early stages of developing a photographic style and technique. After completing a degree in Biochemistry at The University of Nottingham in 2008, I pursued a career in Pathology, before starting work as a Clinical Research Scientist at the City Hospital, Nottingham in 2011. I have always had a keen interest in photography and with a background in the sciences I appreciate its technical and chemical nature, as well as the beauty of creating unique and visually inspiring imagery. Although photography is a hobby I pursue in my spare time, I’m always looking to challenge myself with fresh subject matter and new techniques.

I currently use a Nikon D3100 and a range of filters, to capture urban and rural scenes in and around Nottingham. I particularly enjoy picturing architecture at night, or in the strange light between twilight and darkness. I’m hoping that this website will allow me the chance to showcase my work, but also accumulate all my images in one place so I can visually record my progress and development as a photographer.
